in 2009 I had just gotten married, bought a condo, and my stock photo business was getting severely disrupted by the emergence of digital imaging and online photo licensing. To de-stress I started taking long walks and along the way I found myself attracted to the shapes, lines, textures and compositions I saw in the cracks on the sidewalks and streets. At some point I noticed I liked them best after a rain when they were drying giving them a little more contrast and interest.
